  • Guided Ascent of The Ledge Route

The Ledge Route is a fantastic introduction to scrambling and an exciting way to reach the summit of Ben Nevis. This iconic route on the North Face offers stunning views and a rewarding adventure, making it an ideal choice for anyone looking to explore one of the mountain’s classic north face ridges.

  • We’ll meet at the North Face car park near Torlundy, just a 15-minute drive from Fort William town centre. From here, we’ll set off on a stunning hike along the North Face Path, leading us to the iconic CIC Hut at the base of Ben Nevis’ towering buttresses, with the CMD Arete stretching out to the southeast. This spot offers breathtaking views of dramatic ridgelines like Tower Ridge and the classic skyline route of Ledge Route.

Though it may look imposing, Ledge Route follows a straightforward and rewarding path to the ridge. The ascent takes us through rugged terrain and across the historic No. 5 Gully, renowned for its winter avalanches. Once on the ridge, you’ll enjoy an exhilarating scramble on solid, grippy rock, surrounded by awe-inspiring views, before reaching the summit plateau. From the top of Ben Nevis, we’ll descend via the Mountain Track, wrapping up an unforgettable day in Scotland’s highlands.
