Overview
Situated in the Western Highlands of Scotland, Glencoe is often regarded as one of Scotland's most iconic and picturesque glens, renowned for its dramatic landscapes and rich history. Surrounded by towering Munros, the glen is flanked by Munros such as Stob Dearg (Buachaille Etive Mor), Bidean nam Bian, and the Aonach Eagach ridge, which offers one of the most challenging and rewarding mainland scrambles in Scotland. Glencoe is also home to the famous Curved Ridge, a classic mountaineering route on Buachaille Etive Mor that attracts climbers and adventurers from all over the world. Glen Coe is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts, offering unparalleled opportunities for hiking, climbing, and exploring Scotland’s wild beauty.
Glencoe is also home to many Classic Rock climbing routes, such as the Crypt on Bidean nam Bian, the classic link-up of climbs on Aonoch Dubh, including Archer Ridge, or maybe the fantastically positioned Agags Groove on Buachaille Etive Mor, at Northwest Mountaineering we love guiding and taking people to these incredible places. We also run a Glencoe Ridges Course or guided Glencoe Munros days, which allows you to explore one of Scotland's most iconic and picturesque glens.
